Dr. Francesca Michelini

Dr. Francesca Michelini studied philosophy at the University of Genoa (Italy) and at the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich (Ph.D. 2001). From 2006 until 2010 she coordinated an interdisciplinary and internationally oriented research project on the "Future of Human Nature" at the Bruno Kessler Foundation in Trento. She received a scholarship from the DAAD (2000) and from the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation (2010-2011). In September and October 2011 she was visiting fellow at the University of Exeter, Department of Sociology and Philosophy. From 2010 until 2012 she was Senior Fellow at the Collaborative Research Centre "Transformations of Antiquity" of the Humboldt University of Berlin. Currently, she is Assistant Professor and Lecturer in Theoretical Philosophy at the University of Kassel. She published a book about philosophy of biology (Il vivente e la mancanza. Scritti sulla teleologia, Mimesis, Milano 2011) and numerous articles about philosophy of biology, philosophy of nature, philosophical anthropology, and history of modern philosophy.
